PHOTO RELEASE AGREEMENT
Model agrees to the following:
1. Grant of Rights
The Model grants Columbia Fashion Week the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use and publish photographs and/or video of the Model taken during the event, including but not limited to promotional materials, websites, and social media.
2. Compensation
The Model agrees that they will receive no financial compensation for the use of the images, except as specifically agreed upon in writing.
3. Duration
This release is perpetual and will remain in effect indefinitely.
4. No Obligation
Columbia Fashion Week is under no obligation to use the photographs or video.
5. Release of Liability
The Model releases Columbia Fashion Week from any claims or liability arising out of the use of the photographs or video.
6. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina.
- There are two easy steps to apply.
- Become a member of the COLAFW Experience ($50 annual membership fee). NOTE: Each model must renew their COLAFW Experience membership annually. Model will be notified if membership needs to be renewed. The membership fee is nonrefundable.
- Attend Top Model Call (Select during the application process)
- Model Selections for competition will be made after auditions
- If selected, model must submit competition fee of $150 4 weeks following Model Call to move forward with competition.
2. WHAT REQUIREMENTS MUST A MODEL POSSESS TO BE CONSIDERED?
- Models must be 16 years of age or older for Top Model Competition
- Height requirement to audition: 5’6” or taller with shoes
- There is no size requirement - Columbia Fashion Week is an inclusive platform; however, model will be judged based on industry standards

- Yes. All models that join The COLAFW Model Experience still have access to all membership benefits if not chosen for the Top Model competition.
4. HOW DO I PREPARE FOR AUDITIONS?
- All models are required to wear black top and leggings/jeans with 3-inch pump/heel or higher (no platforms)
- Natural makeup
- Digital or physical portfolio
- Practice your walk, poses, and presentation!
6 IF I AM SELECTED FOR THE COMPETITION, WHEN/HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED?
- All applicants will be notified via email if selected to participate in the Top Model Competition.
- There are limited spots available for the competition.
7. IF SELECTED FOR THE COLAFW TOP MODEL COMPETITION, WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?
- All models will be provided a schedule of dates that competition will take place. Models are required to attend competition dates, if not, model scoring will be effected; however, model will be allowed to remain in the competition. Also, failure to show without providing communication could result in not being able to participate with COLAFW in the future. (**We understand emergencies and take that into consideration.**)
- Attendance to all fittings, designer and boutique go-sees (collaborate with designer/stylist),
8. WHERE WILL THE COLAFW MODEL TRAINING DAY, FITTINGS AND REHEARSALS BE HELD? WHAT DATES AND WHAT TIMES?

9. HOW ARE TOP MODELS SELECTED TO COMPETE IN THE COLAFW TOP MODEL COMPETITION?
- Models are selected based on headshots received during model, model call digital/physical portfolio, model etiquette, model presentation, runway walks.
- Model Competition is based on industry criteria by a model panel of experts.
10. WHAT DOES THE TOP MODEL COMPETITION CONSISTS OF?
- Models compete in a series of model-related challenges over the course of 2-3 months.
- Photoshoots
- Runway challenges
- Promotional Campaign
- Model Etiquette
- At the end of the competition, models will compete in one final runway challenge during Columbia Fashion Week finale showcase for the coveted title COLAFW Top Model of the Year.
11. WHAT DOES THE COLAFW TOP MODEL OF THE YEAR RECEIVE?

13. ARE THERE ANY FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOP MODEL COMPETITION?
- After joining The COLAFW Model Experience, if selected for the competition, models are required to pay the competition fee of $150
- All models are also responsible for any and all costs associated with rehearsals, go-sees or fittings, and the week of the event including all transportation to/from Columbia, meals, lodging, and parking fees.
14. IF SELECTED FOR A SPECIAL EVENT, PHOTOSHOOT, OR RUNWAY SHOW, WILL TRAVEL TO/FROM COLUMBIA AND ACCOMMODATIONS BE COVERED?
- All models are responsible for travel to/from Columbia and lodging the week of COLAFW.
